Awards & Recognition

We honour people and institutions that go the extra mile for aviation education in Poland

The Lotnicze Marzenia Foundation believes it’s worth speaking up about the people and places doing something exceptional for aviation education. That’s why we honour individuals, schools and organisations that inspire young generations to build their future around aviation. Our awards aren’t a beauty contest — they recognise the real, day-to-day work behind aviation education in Poland.

Foundation's top recognition

Aviation Personality of the Year

The highest recognition awarded by the Lotnicze Marzenia Foundation to a person who has contributed in an exceptional way to the development of aviation in Poland — through education, popularisation, sporting achievements, technological innovation or long-standing service to Polish aviation. The award honours both outstanding individual feats and a lifetime of work.

Who can be honoured?

The award can go to anyone — a pilot, instructor, designer, scientist, aviation journalist, community activist, volunteer or other individual — whose work stands out within Poland's aviation community. There are no age or professional restrictions.

How it works

Candidates can be nominated by aviation organisations, schools, aero clubs, industry media and private individuals. The laureate is chosen by the Award Jury appointed by the Foundation's Board. The award is given once a year.

Prize

The laureate receives a Lotnicze Marzenia Foundation statuette, a diploma and a feature on the foundation's website and social media.

Foundation Award

Aviation Teacher of the Year

An award for a teacher who weaves aviation into their work with young people in an outstanding way. They don’t have to be a physics teacher — we recognise any educator who can spark a passion for aviation, whether through lessons, school projects, trips or their own initiatives. We’re looking for people who go beyond what’s expected.

Who can nominate

Students, parents, school principals, fellow teachers, local organisations

Prize

Foundation diploma and statuette, a feature on the Foundation’s website and social media, an invitation to a Foundation aviation event

Foundation Award

Aviation-Friendly School

An award for a school that consistently weaves aviation into its educational offer. It could be a school that runs an aviation club, built an aviation-themed learning zone, regularly organises trips to airfields, partners with an aero club, or simply keeps showing students that aviation is a real career path.

Who can nominate

Teachers, students, parents, local governments, NGOs

Prize

Certificate and an “Aviation-Friendly School” plaque for the school building, priority in recruitment for Foundation programmes, a feature on the Foundation’s website

Foundation Award

Aviation Volunteer of the Year

An award for someone who selflessly gives their time to aviation education for young people. A pilot running weekend workshops for kids. An aviation student helping at events. A mechanic inviting classes into the hangar. We’re looking for people who share their passion and experience — unpaid, simply to inspire others.

Who can nominate

Schools, organisations, programme participants, fellow volunteers

Prize

Diploma and statuette, a feature in Foundation media, an invitation to the annual laureates’ meeting

Foundation Award

Aviation-Supporting Local Government

An award for a municipality, county or city that actively supports aviation education in its area — by funding programmes, providing event space, partnering with aviation organisations or creating conditions for the development of local aviation infrastructure.

Who can nominate

Residents, schools, NGOs, councillors

Prize

Certificate and a commemorative plaque, recognition on the Foundation’s website, priority when hosting Aviation Village in the municipality

The Foundation team reviews submissions and contacts both nominees and nominators to confirm the details.

03

Evaluation

A jury of Foundation members and invited aviation experts evaluates the candidates and selects the laureates.
